Torna “No Borders”, la voce internazionale dell’Unical su Radio Ciroma

Riparte giovedì 21 maggio su Radio Ciroma 105.7 il programma “No borders” curato dalle volontarie del Servizio civile universale impegnate nel progetto “Studenti senza frontiere 2” dell’Associazione Culturale Entropia. Il programma, giunto alla seconda stagione, è frutto della formazione specifica svolta dalle volontarie nell’ambito del modulo “Media e tecniche di informazione”, curato dalla giornalista Daniela Ielasi, con la partecipazione di Dario Della Rossa, animatore della storica radio cosentina che è anche partner del progetto.

La prima puntata racconta il lockdown nel Campus dell’Università della Calabria, dove ha sede l’Associazione, dal punto di vista degli studenti e delle studentesse internazionali che hanno continuato (e continuano) a viverlo nella solitudine degli alloggi. Un Campus deserto, svuotato di persone e di servizi, nel quale gli studenti rimasti (circa 400 fra italiani e internazionali) hanno vissuto con maggiore intensità la pandemia, anche per via della lontananza dalle famiglie e dai Paesi d’origine. Soli ma non abbandonati: Patrizia Piro, prorettrice con delega al Centro Residenziale, intervistata dalle volontarie, ha spiegato le scelte intraprese dall’Unical e le prospettive future per il Campus.

“No Borders”, che dal 21 maggio andrà in onda ogni giovedì alle 12 in diretta e ogni venerdì, in replica, alle 18, è solo una delle attività che ha visto impegnate le volontarie anche durante il lockdown. Dal 15 aprile, con la ripresa del Servizio civile Universale su tutto il territorio nazionale, l’Associazione Culturale Entropia ha rimodulato le attività per consentire alle volontarie di proseguire il servizio. Il front-office multilingue, in modalità a distanza, ha continuato a informare gli studenti internazionali sulle nuove disposizioni governative e ha risposto anche a nuovi bisogni e necessità. E’ stato ad esempio attivato un servizio solidaristico “SOS Campus Taxi”, per accompagnare gli studenti nei supermercati, nelle farmacie o nelle librerie, per l’acquisto di beni necessari. Le volontarie si sono impegnate nella petizione on line per “un servizio mensa di qualità”, nata dagli studenti internazionali stessi. E’ stato avviato il Tandem linguistico a distanza, finalizzato all’apprendimento della lingua italiana in maniera informale e alla pratica di lingue diverse.

L’Associazione Entropia lavora adesso all’organizzazione di alcune iniziative di scambio interculturale sul territorio, da realizzare non appena le condizioni lo consentiranno. Il programma radio “No Borders” sarà anche un modo per tenersi aggiornati sulle attività dell’Associazione, sul Servizio Civile Universale e sulla vita/non vita del Campus fino all'estate.

“No Borders” is back, the international voice of Unical on Radio Ciroma

The program “No borders”, curated by the volunteers of Servizio Civile, restarts for its second edition on Thursday, March 21st, on Radio Ciroma. The program is the result of the specific training “Media and Information Techniques” in the project “Studenti senza frontiere 2” , curated by the journalist Daniela Ielasi and the special participation of Daria Della Rossa, presenter of the historic radio from Cosenza, also partner of the project.

The first episode is about the lockdown in the campus of the University of Calabria (where the association is located) from the point of view of the international students who are still in the student residencies. A deserted, emptied campus,where the remaining students (about 400 italian and international) have lived more intensely the pandemic, even due to the distance from their families and countries. Alone, but not abandoned. Patrizia Piro, the pro-rector in the name of Centro Residenziale, interviewed by the volunteers, explained the choices made by the University and the future perspectives for the Campus.

“No Borders”, that goes on air every Thursday at 12.00, from March 21, and repeated every Friday at 18.00, is just one of the activities developed by the volunteers even during the lockdown. From April 15th, with the resumption of Servizio Civile Universale in all national territory, Associazione Culturale Entropia has remodeled the activities allowing the volunteers to go on with their projects. The multilingual front-office has continued remotely, always informing and helping the international students with the new government decrees and answering to new doubts and needs. One of the projects activated in that sense was the solidarity project “SOS Campus Taxi”, to give a ride for the students to do groceries, go to drug stores and to buy books. The volunteers also started a petition for a better food service at the university, asked by the international students. Also with the participation of the international students, the volunteers put together a video message “Andrà tutto bene” in different languages. The Tandem project was restarted remotely, aiming socialization, learning and sharing of italian and different languages in an informal manner.

Associazione Entropia is now working on the organization of some cultural exchange initiatives on the local territory, starting as soon as the conditions allow it. The radio program “No Borders” is also a way of keeping up to date with the Associations activities, Servizio Civile Universale and with the life/non life on campus until this summer.
