The "Babel Tea", an event organized by the Cultural Association Entropia with the support of the volunteers of the Universal Civil Service included in the new "Students Without Borders 2" project, returns at the DAM of the University of Calabria. Starting from Wednesday 22 January 2020, every week, from 17:30 onwards, students of different nationalities will meet at the DAM (polifunzionale building) with a cup of tea: it will be a moment of aggregation and informal training and above all a way to eliminate linguistic and cultural barriers. A great moment to integrate the different cultures present on the campus and to practice languages, useful both for Italians who intend to learn or improve linguistic abilities and for international students interested in learning or improving Italian.
Last year's Babel Tea hosted over a hundred students from China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Ecuador, Paraguay, Turkey, Morocco, Argentina, Libya, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Kurdistan, United States, Mozambique, Yemen, Iran, Vietnam, Portugal, the Netherlands, Syria, Madagascar and many other countries. Students who, in addition to being enriched from a cultural and linguistic point of view, have found a friendly and welcoming place in which they can spend every moment of the day not only during the events, a place in which many friendships were born and continued even outside of it. Conversation tables are an opportunity to get involved, to test your skills and get out of your comfort zone and the virtual world.
The "No Borders Students" are pleased to invite all the students of the Campus to take part in the Babel Tea. To stay updated on the projects' activities (as Linguistic Tandem, International Jam Session, intercultural evenings, urban trekking, etc) there is Entropia DAM page and the group “No Borders – Studenti Senza Frontiere” on Facebook.
Torna al DAM dell’Università della Calabria il “Babel Tea”, evento organizzato dall’Associazione Culturale Entropia con il supporto dei volontari del Servizio Civile Universale inseriti nel nuovo progetto “Studenti Senza Frontiere 2”. Ogni settimana, a partire da mercoledì 22 gennaio 2020, dalle ore 17:30 in poi, studenti di diverse nazionalità si incontreranno al DAM (Edificio Polifunzionale) davanti a una tazza di tè: sarà un momento di aggregazione e formazione a carattere informale ma soprattutto un modo per abbattere le barriere linguistiche e culturali. Un'ottima occasione per integrare le diverse culture presenti nel Campus e per praticare le lingue, utile sia agli italiani che intendono imparare o migliorare la loro competenza linguistica, sia agli studenti internazionali interessati alla lingua e cultura italiana.
Il Babel Tea dello scorso anno ha coinvolto oltre un centinaio di studenti provenienti da Cina, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egitto, Nigeria, Ecuador, Paraguay, Turchia, Marocco, Argentina, Libia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Kurdistan, Stati Uniti, Mozambico, Yemen, Iran, Vietnam, Portogallo, Paesi Bassi, Siria, Madagascar e molti altri Paesi. Studenti che, oltre a essersi arricchiti dal punto di vista culturale e linguistico, hanno trovato un luogo di socialità amichevole e accogliente nel quale trascorrere ogni momento della giornata e non solo durante gli eventi, un luogo nel quale sono nate tante amicizie consolidate anche al di fuori di esso. I tavoli di conversazione sono un’opportunità per mettersi in gioco, per mettere alla prova le proprie competenze e uscire dalla propria comfort zone e dal mondo virtuale.
I “No Borders Students” sono lieti di invitare tutti gli studenti del Campus a prendere parte al Babel Tea, e alle altre attività previste dal progetto (come il Tandem Linguistico, l'International Jam session, le serate interculturali, i trekking urbani, ecc).
