Per un mondo di Pace, dieci cento mille Riace!

University of Calabria is becoming increasing international. Students from all over the world chose to study in our university, turning the Campus of Arcavacata in a small global town made by different colours, idioms and cultures. A great wealth for the territory as an opportunity of cultural and social growth and development too.
But then this variety is often ignored or not fully complied. Charged by complicity of the language barriers (foreigners do not speak Italian, and Italians do not speak English), the contacts and real interactions between the two parts occur with difficulties. For this reason, "Studenti senza frontiere” (No border Students) is born, a project that aims international students’ integration in the university and city fabric. Conceived by the Cultural Association Entropia, which is based in DAM, at the Edificio Polifunzionale, the project will be working soon and needs your help as the help of everyone. The immediate objective is to build a team of international volunteers (including Italians) who works for the reception, linguistic integration and organization of intercultural initiatives in the Campus throughout the academic year.
In an historical moment of feelings of hate and racism re-emerging in Italy and throughout Europe, the example that inspires us is that of a small town in the Calabrian hinterland, Riace, which has become a model of welcoming and integration in Italy and in the world. Defending Riace and his mayor Mimmo Lucano, unjustly removed from his country for the "crime of humanity", is an imperative also for our University and for those who wish that the "festa dei popoli" is every day, at Unical and everywhere. Follow up and join us!
